Charlotte Pringle Brand Identity
FACE PLANT
Face Plant is an East London urban gardening centre with community and innovation at its heart. The client wanted to steer clear of traditional garden centre cliches, and requested a brand identity that would be contemporary, progressive, and quirky enough to appeal to a demographic of young creative Millennials and Gen Z-ers.

The visual language takes inspiration from the bright colours and organic shapes found in Matisse paintings. The name is a playful nod to the demographic - both to their obsession with taking photos of/with their plants (#plantsofinstagram), as well as to what plant shopping represents symbolically within their lives. The TOY typeface was chosen to add some East London attitude, and its use in combination with a modern, minimalist sans serif references the continual evolvement of the area.
